• Promote your podcast. Get the word out about your podcast on social media, your website, and other channels. Get your friends and family on the bandwagon and have them hype it up as well.

• Guest on other podcasts. This is a great way to get exposure to a new audience. Make sure as a guest you can pitch your show and have a link ready for their show notes.

• Collaborate with other podcasters. Partner with other podcasters in your niche to cross-promote your shows. It can also help build your podcast community. By connecting with other podcasters, people with similar interests or shows, you have a built-in community in which to network and thus, build your audience.

• Run contests and giveaways. This is a great way to generate excitement and buzz around your podcast. Do you have merch? What about a local shop that might be looking for inexpensive advertising? Perhaps they might be willing to donate an item for your contest. Here again, the keyword is networking, getting yourself out there and letting people know what you are doing!

• Be patient. It takes time to grow a podcast audience. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results overnight. In truth, you probably won’t see overnight growth. It takes time and dedication. Persistence and regularity will build your audience. Keep positive and know that each step you take, is one more on a long road–you can do it!
